The amount of times I said I would start work on this have been countless. BUT, I have finalized the script with all my fellow voice actors and have begun working on it.

I've storyboarded the first introduction scene, composed title music and intro scene music. Right now I am finalizing the story boards into real animation and colour.

The script is great, not to mention the voice actors working with me on this. Hopefully this episode really comes to life and I actually work hard and finish it. My goal is to have it done by the end of the year.

If you haven't seen the first episode please check it out and give me some feedback.

You can also watch some of the side episodes I've made on newgrounds, featuring the cops of Salty Swamp.

I need to finish this episode for myself, it'll be a great personal achievement for me.

Well that's it for now. BYE :>

Thanks for choosing me as user of the year, everybody.

But what more important is our movie Metal Gear Funnies has won movie of the year, which I am over the moon about.

There was some tough competition but I am glad everyone thought we deserved it.

Bad luck to everyone else, you just weren't good enough, I'm afraid to say.

Oh and I've got a new song up on my myspace, maybe I'll be musician of the year this year?

I've had my wacom for over a week now. Been a bit too busy to post about it/use it because of xmas and all that. I must say I am quite surprised how smooth this thing is, especially in photoshop! I haven't really used it in flash yet, but I am planning to. At the moment I'm just having fun drawing and experimenting like crazy in photoshop with this thing. I've been able to achieve so much more in terms of style and linework with this new tablet. I love it.

I've got plans to finish off a flash I started last year (info in previous news post) and also I really want to get Salty Swamp back up, probably one of my most proudest series I've made. The script has already been written and left to collect dust for a couple of years now. Might make a few tweaks to it, but it's something I've always wanted to continue. A lot of people have told me it has potential to be big, and I believe so too. There's quite a few extra cameos in the new script, if all goes to plan I will probably send out a few roles and people can audition to be in the next toon.

If you haven't seen Salty Swamp, go check it out under my flash stuff. Don't watch "Salteh Swamp JK" however until you've at least seen the first ep. I really hope I work on it this year. I find listening to my voice actors lines helps motivate me to work on it.

Here's a quick sketch I did in photoshop with my new tablet. It's a work in progress, but thought I'd post it anyway. THANKS AGAIN TOM YA WONT BE DISAPPOINTED

THANKS TO ALL OF THOSE 2 PEOPLE THAT CARE

The Wacom rocks / SALTY SWAMP

So just wanted to give a huge thanks to Tom for his very kind donation of a wacom tablet to me. I've been wanting one for a long time and I can't wait to try it out and get into the rhythm of making some decent artwork and flash. I'm curious to see how much it will improve my art, as using a mouse for me always ends up with very sloppy linework and just doesn't turn out as well as my work on pencil does.

Before I even knew about the tablet giveaway, I started a new flash. Based on real events everyone might have been through, but using cute little creatures in my style. Hoping it will turn out very nicely. I won't continue making it however, until my brand spanking new tablet arrives. I can't wait :)

Below is a little snapshot of the beginning scene. It's set in a gloomy, fantasy forest with weird lookin' creatures.

If you like the way it looks, hopefully it'll look even better once I get my hands on this tablet. It won't be done til next year as Xmas time is always a busy period for me. It's going to be pretty short in length but I'm sure it will turn out alright.

Stick around, thanks again for the tablet Tom.

Goodluck to the rest of the wacom entrants!

Thanks Tom, New flash, etc

So I know this is a big topic. I think something needs to be done to make it a bit more fair. It would make this place a hell of a lot better in my opinion.

Judging by most of the flash that wins awards and money these days, it seems a lot of users out their vote based on seeing their favorite video game characters make cameos. Yes this is a topic that has been going on for a long time. But will we see Newgrounds die out because of this? For me personally it is kinda embarrassing to be beaten out by a "meet n fuck" hentai flash game, which happened not too long ago when I submitted my halloween flash.

There are a lot of talented animators out there, who are really original but are being left in the shadows because a flash toon with nintendo characters was voted highly and stole the spotlight.

Another thing, regarding the halloween contest. I don't mean to be disrespectful here. But what's the point of making it a contest, when almost everybody wins? Someone even complained about not placing higher than what they did. I know Tom is a good person giving out so many prizes, it's a great thing he does, but seriously it was in no way a contest at the end of the day with that many winners.

Uhghhh, anyway back on subject here.

To encourage users to be more original, maybe there should be a "category" selection when uploading your flash. You can pick from either "sprite toon, parody, original" or what not. If users fail to pick incorrectly, the flash can be flagged and changed appropriately by a mod.

With the appropriate category chosen, it will determine whether or not you are eligible for prizes. Sprite toons in my opinion, should be ruled out from any daily awards, cash what-so-ever. Parodies of any other sort are pushing the cash prize, maybe if they did win anything from the monthly awards (which happens pretty much all the time) they get a certain amount of % cut for using references to video games, whatnot.

The community, well, the hidden community I should say, are young, angry, have hormones going like crazy and tend to vote 5 based on their favorite video game stars, or artists who have made these famed parodies. They also seem to flock in the thousands, reviewing with "awsum! hahahahaha solin snak wuz tha awsomist best part i vote 5 k ^____^" perfect 10 scores.

it seems if we give an honest review on the same flash, with maybe a 4. These fan boys instantly mark the review as abusive. It's alright for them to review ridiculously high on it, but it's not okay to give an honest score on a truly mediocre film.

To solve this, maybe there could be a certain level, or flash award achievement which you'd have to obtain. (similar to making a front page post) which allows them to make a review.

Or you could just let this site keep downgrading itself in terms of originality and respect.

I just think there's a lot of things that need to be done here. Sure "Everything by Everyone"

It's funny, my halloween flash has dropped to 3.62. I'm thinking maybe it's because Egoraptor makes a cameo, dies horribly thus fanboy's vote 0. OR it's just a really horrible, badly animated piece of crap.

Maybe next time I shall resort to adding in a lot of video game references, and awesome tribute power ups that make egoraptor strong and give strength to overcome all. XDDDD!! vote over 9000 LMAO

But seriously. I like originality. I used to be not so original myself and I think we all weren't at some stage. But for me it was just a stepping stone and now I can proudly call a lot of my latest work, original.

I'm only saying this cause It would be disappointing to see newgrounds turn into a big festy sprite parody site with original works being submitted elsewhere because of the low chances of getting any sort of creditable feedback.

Like I said there are ways around this. There will be sacrifices, but will we see a change? Or will we see Newgrounds become Hentaispriteparodypenisgrounds. Everything by Morons. What are some other ways to encourage people to be more original?

But for now head over to campnorth while you can, it has everything in an art community. A lot of potential and a lot less feebleminded people!

How to encourage animators to be more original

It's out, I'm glad I actually worked on this and finished it. Quite proud of how it turned out!

Let me know what you think here, or leave a review if you like! :)

Happy halloween!

My halloween flash out now!

If you've come about my page, here's some news just for you.

My halloween flash is almost done, and will be ready to submit before 31st of October. I've been working hard on it so keep a look out for it soon! I'm glad I've actually stuck to this project, I don't really do that often, but for some reason I've been animating this thing and haven't lost any motivation. Don't expect a big epic though, as I've only been working on this since last week and getting it done in time for halloween limits it to being pretty short.

SOOOooo yeah, i'll make a frontpage post when it's out!

update on halloween flash

Yoo yooo

Just released a quick little flash to get myself back into animating in flash. Took a day or so on and off to make, but definately looking to create much better things in the future.

Also I've joined forces with Chrome-Demon to make a game. It's been in slow develop meant for about a month, but I like how it's turning out. It's going to be a platformer, but hopefully not a boring one because I plan to make it fun and vibrant! Here is a screenshot below of the introduction level (strictly under development so it's not a final image)

Don't know how long it will take to complete. But I wanna make sure it is fun to play and definitely a proud first game I've done.

Soooo, uhh yeah. Wish us luck! :)

New flash out and a new game eventually
