whats with this scouting nonsense?
even when people get scouted it doesn't stop the so called "shittyness" coming through.
also i just uploaded 4 pieces to find out you need to be scouted in order for people to see the work. how the fuck are people meant to know if you're worth scouting, if they cant even see your artwork?
or am i missing something here? someone fill me in.

yeah i was confused too.
i THINK that when youve thrown up 3-4 peices there are set scouts that approve or deny you as a submission artist. happens relatively fast, took like 15 minutes for mine to get up. that was if a user submits 3-4 pictures of wangs... yeah.
thats my assumtion of how it works. dont know 100% if thats it tho.

Scouting is the worst idea ever
I agree, scouting is retarded. I've seen SO many pieces of crap on the portal, and I know some artists who SHOULD be scouted, but there is no way anyone will find them because they are completely obscure to everyone. I think there should just be a blam/protect system on the portal, or something of the like.
The whole point behind scouting is that the people you scout will reflect on you, so if you are serious about putting up decent work, you would expect the same from the people you scout. Scouting is an excellent way to make everyone accountable for themselves.
Its simple, if you post up trash, and someone scouts you, not only do you lose your scouting privileges, but more than likely the person that scouted you as well.
Obviously if you don't give a fuck about the art portal in the first place, none of this will matter, and your art will remain in the unscouted section, away from the actual art portal, so no one will care anyway.

really I have half of my work scouted and not the other half.
I know I'm not a real great artist, but some consistency would be nice.
MC pretty much covered it, but as far as your complaint about people no seeing your art, there's a section of the art portal that only scouted artists can see that displays the art of anyone who is unscouted and has atleast 4 pieces.
And that section is very heavily picked through, so if someones art is good than they will get scouted almost immediately.

This is the same thing I dont like about the art portal the stupid scouting Im a pretty good sprite artist and uploaded 2 of my works 3 months ago and it still hasnt been scouted the system they made for the art portal was stupid and I completley agree with you

Altering preexisting sprites isn't our idea orginal art, and is the reason why you haven't been scouted.
