If you read my last post, I still haven't heard back from my original cast after giving them a new deadline. Except for 1 guy who is going to give me lines within the next day or so. *fingers crossed because he voices 3 characters*

If you've auditioned for these roles back in March I encourage you to have another go, I had a lot to go through last time and it was hard for me to make decisions based on the overwhelming amount of auditions! Looking back I wish I made better casting decisions but what was I to know, I thought the cast I selected were 100% keen to go and reliable.

1. Please only audition if you have a DECENT studio quality mic, with crisp vocal quality. I can't accept anyone with obvious headset microphones, bad room reverb, etc, you're wasting my time and yours. Also only apply if you can get me lines within a week or so after I've let you know if I want you onboard. I've been wanting to kick this off since March, I can't go holding it off for much longer.

2. This will be a first in, best impressed, gets the role. So no deadline for auditioning, I will be choosing people as soon as I am impressed, so do not hesitate if you want to be apart of one of my biggest toons yet.

I have a project that was supposed to of kicked off a few years back, for some reason it didn't, I've have had shitty personal circumstances occur most of my life and practically gave up my dreams. I disappeared off the scene for a couple of years and pursued other interests. In 2012 I made a little bit of a comeback and made a few little short toons and this year was the year I had the motivation to reboot the series "Salty Swamp". Which is what this post is about.

I had casted around 8-9 talented people to voice in this toon back in March.

5 people gave me lines very promptly and were very professional. Considering they did it all for free, and the quality really tells me they're passionate about what they do. It's exactly what I wanted, however...

I am still waiting on 3 others whom to this day are supposedly keen but have not delivered. Excuse after excuse. This has made me lose motivation almost completely because like I said this was supposed to kick off March-April! I can't animate the toon without voices. I need to capture the personality perfectly. I've done projects in the mean time, and what gets me is these guys say they REALLY want to do it, time and time again when I chase them up, but I am constantly being fed broken promises.

THE CATCH IS that 2 of the voice actors were part of the original 1st episode I first made back in 2005, and really gave life to this toon. They're talented voice actors for sure. They were the reason I wanted to give this toon another go, because they kept telling me they're on board and ready to go if I wanted to reboot it. I spent a good while working on the opening scene for this movie thinking that this will be the best thing I've done. I even had a skype call with the cast members in April and read through the script together and showed them what I've made so far. One of the guys even promised me a spotlight on his channel cause he has a large audience, and that got me super stoked even more so to get this going. But now it's June - Almost July and I am tired of hearing excuses when I have to chase them up myself, for the most part I don't even get a reply when I do chase up, so I have to chase up EVEN more than I'd like to. It feels like dejavu, because this is what happened a few years ago. We were reading through the script and nothing ever took off after that.

This is what I don't get about people in general. Why do people "sign up" or say they're super keen to contribute to something, and then don't end up delivering what they say they would. Sure if you go through some shit in life, it can be hard, but it's different when YOU KEEP TELLING ME YOU WANT TO BE IN THE TOON! I've been used to this my whole life, being taken advantage of and messed around. I am fed up with relying on these sorts of people and feeling guilty if I decide to ditch them.

If I do ditch them and find replacements, It's going to be hard. Because they gave the characters their life. Hell it's going to be real tough replacing their voices, but what the fuck am I supposed to do? I want people who are passionate and reliable, and the whole casting thing was difficult enough as it was. I had about 40 people apply, about half were decent, and a few really stood out. This is why I've been doing mostly solo toons since 2012 because all I have to rely on is myself.

I just feel it will be a waste if I don't finish this. I've always wanted to get off the ground but the voice actors I needed the most, haven't even pulled through or taken the time to let me know anything. And I just keep letting it be, thinking one day they will have lines for me, even after all the chasing up I've had to do. It does my fuckin head in so much.

I could upload the preview I've done, maybe as a little trailer for the episode. But I don't know. It's probably not even worth all the fuckin effort anymore to be honest. I feel so bi polar about this whole animation thing it's incredible.

Could anyone care to give any words of advice, I could use some right now. I'm in a pickle :{

I am still waiting on my voice actors for my cartoon 'salty swamp' to send lines to me so I can animate this thing. The more I wait the more I am losing motivation, it's been 2 months since I casted voice actors for it, and in between those 2 months I have been having the shittiest life circumstances happen, and only just found a new place to rent. I am trying to stay positive about everything but I can't help but feel like my life will never turn out the way I want it to. GRRRR, why is it so hard for creative folks to make a living being creative? Why is it so hard for me to just give it up and try something else even after all the signs tell me hardly no one gives a shit what I make anyway. I DUNNO, I AM RANTING NOW.

If I get my lines anytime soon, I will pump out this cartoon as fast as humanly possible. I feel if it doesn't go as well as I thought (like usual) than it will be time for me to move on from my early childhood fantasy, which was fucking Pamela Anderson. Yes I was a horny young lad, needless to say my other childhood fantasy was to become a cartoonist.

This is an ambitious project which I've always wanted to take off the ground. This is all apart of me continuing projects, picking up where I left off and finishing them. I have been working hard on it and hope to have it finished within a few months time.

Long ass post coming right up. Just a reflection of some of the stuff I've submitted to NG this year. Not expecting a response, this is more so just another diary entry to look back on.

Well it's not quite the end of the year yet, but fuck it. It's been a somewhat more positive year this year for me, productive wise. I hadn't submit anything to NG since 2009, 2012 has been somewhat of an "awakening phase" for me. However I still feel I haven't made much progress and I feel I have a long way to go if I ever want to be successful. I have yet to find my niche and I have just kept at it despite all the self doubt and bitterness I have had throughout the year.

Let's start with my first submission to NG this year

The Sniper Destroys Fads

Uploaded January 25th: It was made due to the amount of "bronies" invading team fortress 2. Spamming their beloved show in game. I played tf2 a lot and it got to me so much that I made a quick toon about it.

Wannabe Videogame Commentators

Uploaded February 12: Around this time I wasted my time watching Seananners, a popular video game commentator on youtube. I noticed how everyone would spam his comment section in every video he uploaded, with comment spam, pleading people to check out their channels. It got me so frustrated that people these days go to these lengths just to get a couple of views. I've always thought if your work was good enough it would get the attention, so I made a little something about the spam. I don't know why these things get to me, but they just do.

Pico's Prize Surprise

Uploaded April 28th: My first ever Pico day submission. I entered this year because I knew hardly anyone else would. Mainly because Tom announced that there would be no prizes this year, so I thought I'd make a quick toon about just that. Not many people got it, but I thought it was pretty obvious. I saw Tom watch it live and he got a little chuckle out of it.

Job Care

Uploaded May 17th: Job Care, probably one of my best toons this year. My frustration towards job agencies and how they don't care about what you're passionate about. I am still unemployed to this day, I don't plan on getting a job anytime soon. I have been struggling to get by all year and I fear that I will be cut from the benefit system very soon. I live off very little money, but I stand by my choices. So If you don't see me around next year it's because I will be homeless or dead.

Roots Valid

Uploaded July 24th: A play on words "Fruit Salad" by the Wiggles. A popular kid's band in Australia. "Root" is slang for fuck in Australia. I thought it would get a reaction and would make some people laugh, but it didn't really :P Was fun to make though.

True Medicine

Uploaded August 20: My love for marijuana made me make this video. Everything we need to cure disease and sickness is obtainable within nature. Man made chemicals and pills are not the answer. I am very passionate about this.

Pokemon Satire Version

Uploaded September 10: Back to the bitterness and frustration that people were constantly making pokemon parodies and most likely getting money due to the amount of views and popularity of these things. Seems people don't do them for fun anymore, it's about the money and views using popular references. I never found one parody funny, except for maybe Hi5 toons Pikachu on Acid.

Vanity Versus Visionary

Uploaded October 8th: I started this back in late 2008, However I only completed the opening scene where it zooms in. The rest was created this year! I created the score awhile back and felt the toon needed to be completed. It's about how girls go for looks and muscle rather than creativity or people with a real vision. In the end she realizes what's more important after seeing what the visionary created after he gave up matching the muscle man's physique.

Uploaded Dec 13: Uploaded today on my alt account "Wodrolb". It has been 6 years since I last made one of these. Not many people know about them now, but they were a hit while I was at highschool. I know Tomska and Eddsworld were a fan of these vids back when I posted them on Sheezyart, as were many other people! So i made a new one for old times sake.

So that's what I've contributed to Newgrounds Portal this year. Compared to previous years I'd say that's not a bad effort.
I've made a lot of other shit this year too, which can be seen on my youtube account HERE. I do it all for fun, hoping that one day I will get scouted or recognized for something. But I know I haven't made anything worthy of the recognition yet. I just don't want to rely on making video game parodies to get noticed. Even though that's what I did years back, when I made sprite movies. They were just for fun though, I never made a cent out of my parodies.

It should never be about the money. All I've ever wanted was people to appreciate what I do and maybe get a kick out of it. I would of liked to have been even more active, but due to my circumstances at home I've found it tough to stay motivated. It's been a tough year for me and I've doubted myself a lot. I know I am not the only one out there who's feeling the pressure. I've got tonnes of unfinished projects that will probably never see the light of day due to my passion decreasing the more I realize how hard it is to make a living being creative. I do have some faith I will find my niche one day, I don't think it will be in animation to be honest. It is too tedious for me to continue doing. I love using my voice and creating soundtracks more so than animating. I've used my voice in every submission this year! I will figure it out and so will all of you other aspiring passionate people out there. Stick to what you believe in, don't do something cause the crowd does it. Create what resonates within you. We all have something unique to bring to the table.

My new year's plan is to dig deeper and squeeze out the hidden SHIT within me. buahha

WTF?

news about a new toon soon.

in 2009 I made a post about a toon. it got good feedback and I didn't even get close finishing it. I'd say roughly 10% was done.
Until a couple of weeks ago I picked it back up off it's feet and have almost completed it.

It will be very different to most of my toons this year. I have had a very bitter 2012, but for the most part have been creating cartoons, whether people liked it or disliked it, I kept going. I feel this toon will be a step in the right direction, instead of being bitter, using my "talent" for the better, lol.

SO LOOK OUT FOR THAT SOON! I have yet to decide a name for it, I'm sure I will figure something out.
